A nice, small, classic Fante akua’ba figure with a well-worn surface from use. Typically, the eyes on Fante akua’ba are rendered as small incised dots or modest relief forms; here, the eyes become the focal point. They immediately draw your gaze, more pronounced than on most examples. Combined with the strong sweep of the eyebrows flowing into the nose, these features give the figure a particularly compelling presence.
