Akan shrine figure, Ghana Wood, pigment 10." tall Mid 20th Century
I particularly like the detail in the carving of the hair and skirt. Represented with a skirt, she was most likely a shrine figure representing a priestess and due to the partly encrusted surface probably received offerings of some kind.
